GIT welcomes master guitarist and composer John Scofield to MI for an afternoon clinic, his first at the school in more than eight years. Scofield has recorded over 35 albums as a leader along with dozens of recordings as a sideman and tours with a who's who of musicians including Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Bill Frisell, Government Mule, Joe Lovano, Joe Henderson, Billy Cobham/George Duke, Gerry Mulligan, McCoy Tyner, Jim Hall, Gary Burton, and many more. Through it all, the guitarist has kept an open musical mind, an ever-creative spirit and an evolving style that has earned him a reputation as a “player’s player".
