GIT Presents Dean Brown "In Session" Feb 09, 2006
On February 9, GIT welcomes guitarist Dean Brown for a unique afternoon clinic that will focus on the "art of playing in the rhythm section". Brown's credit list is more than extensive, including over 100 major artist recordings and tours with the Brecker Brothers, Marcus Miller, David Sanborn, Kirk Whalum, Bob James, George Duke, Billy Cobham, and many others. All MI students are invited to perform with Dean as he discusses and demonstrates the elements of a great rhythm section, including groove, feel, creating parts, and communication between players. Brown will also demonstrate various creative concepts while playing to pre-recorded studio tracks. This event is an incredible opportunity for MI students to gain personal insights and jam with a true "A-List" musician!
