Top Capitol Records Engineers Discuss the Art of Mastering

On Friday, April 23 at 1pm in Studio E, MI’s Audio Engineering Department presents Capitol Mastering Clinic, a panel discussion featuring four of Capitol Records’ top mastering engineers: Robert Vosgien, Ron McMaster, Evren Göknar, and Kevin Bartley.

The engineers on this panel have played an integral role in bringing to life the creative visions of well-known artists such as No Doubt, Social Distortion, Luis Miguel, Iggy Pop, N.W.A, Motorhead, Pennywise, and Chris Botti, to name a few. Their decades of mastering experience at the Capitol Tower provide unique perspectives on topics including the effects of home recording and mixing on the mastering process, working across different musical genres, and insider tips and techniques for mastering to both digital and vinyl media.
