|    Apr 23, 2009

MI’s Artist and Career Services Department announces another addition to the Career Counseling staff: singer, songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist Barbara Cohen.

Cohen’s intricate body of work embraces a variety of musical genres from folk, roots rock, trip-hop, electronica and world music. A former Virgin Records recording artist, her credits include co-founding the trip-hop band Brother Sun, Sister Moon, collaborating with England’s rave luminaries Orbital on their big beat-techno classic Middle of Nowhere, singing with France’s experimental duo Air, and several critically acclaimed solo albums. She is also known for her eclectic approach to film scoring as displayed in the Academy Award-winning short The Confession, the feature film American Shopper, and PBS documentary The Judge and The General.

Personal Career Counseling sessions are exclusively reserved for MI students and grads. Make an appointment with Barbara or other MI counselors by contacting Director of Artist and Career Services Todd Berhorst (toddb@mi.edu; 323-860-1118).
