ASCAP Presents Free Film/TV Song Placement Workshop

|    Jan 29, 2009

On Thursday, January 29 at 7:00 pm, ASCAP presents “Picture Perfect,” a practical workshop explaining how independent artists, writers and producers can place their music in film and television. This event is free and open to the public.

Film and TV placements are the big-buzz opportunities for songwriters looking to increase exposure and earn money, and while placements have given a boost to many indie artists and writers, getting one requires more than just a great song. What’s the background story? How do you approach music supervisors? How do you prepare and present materials? What are the income streams you can expect? How is the economic downturn impacting the deals being offered to music creators?

Join us for a frank and informative discussion with some of the leading players in this growing field, including:

Danny Benair: Owner, Natural Energy Lab
Carianne Brown: Senior Creative Licensing, SONGS Music Publishing
Susan Sandberg: Songwriter
Alicen Catron Schneider: VP/Music Supervisor, NBC Universal Television Music
