Music Connection Magazine (George Clinton cover) includes a feature about the most recent Record Label Project Final Showcase managed by MI’s Music Business Program students (pictured). During the hands-on program, students learn record company operations by bringing original acts to market, including the final A&R showcase held in MI’s main concert hall. In the words of MC, “The student-run label at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA completed its class project with a showcase that was as good as any on the Sunset Strip. Featuring four acts, the show blew the roof off the school’s auditorium. The students functioned just like a label, doing A&R, PR, marketing, promotion and booking for each act. They even got the world-famous KROQ FM and Monster Energy drink to sponsor the proceedings."
