On Monday, August 27, KIT presents a singer-songwriter seminar with acclaimed songwriter Dean Pitchford. For over twenty-five years Pitchford's songs, films and musicals have played on radio, screen and stage the world over and have become part of the popular cultural landscape. His creations have earned him an Academy Award and a Golden Globe as well as additional nominations for Oscars, Golden Globes, Grammys and Tonys. He was named 1984 BMI Songwriter of the Year and in 1986 won BMI's Country Song of the Year for Dolly Parton's "Don't Call It Love." Records featuring his songs have sold over seventy million copies to date.
