On Thursday, July 30, MI’s Audio Engineering, Keyboard, and Voice departments join to present a special seminar with legendary songwriter, producer, and performer Clarence McDonald. McDonald’s career as a writer, producer, performer and arranger spans more than 40 years. His versatile keyboard style has been featured on recordings by entertainment icons including Ray Charles, Barbra Streisand, Ella Fitzgerald, Justin Timberlake, Hall & Oates, Aretha Franklin, James Taylor, Bill Withers, Smokey Robinson, Linda Ronstadt, Boz Scaggs, The Jackson 5, Carole King, Seals & Crofts, Tina Turner, David T. Walker and The Carpenters. His writing, production and arranging credits include collaborations with Bill Withers, The Emotions, The Dells, Freddy Hubbard, Euge Groove, Patty LaBelle, Michael Lington, Johnny Mathis, The Memphis Horns, Billy Preston, Stanley Turrentine, Deniece Williams, and Nancy Wilson among many others.This event begins at 4:00pm in MI's Concert Hall and is open to all students.
