Free Music Business Seminars

|    Jul 23, 2009

This summer, MI’s Music Business Program is presenting two free, open-to-the-public seminars at MI’s Hollywood campus. Musicians, vocalists, solo artists, songwriters, producers, aspiring industry players, and anyone else with an interest in a music career is invited to listen and ask questions as MI Music Business instructors and Career Counselors discuss strategies for success in the contemporary music industry.

Mark these dates on your calendar:

July 23, 7:00pm
Topic: Networking in the Music Business
Dan Kimpel, creator of the Master Networking course at Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, lets you in on the secrets of effective networking techniques. Learn how to make a good first impression, how to dress for success, the words that turn people off, and effective techniques for cold-calling.

August 20, 7:00pm

Over the past decade the record business has turned upside-down and questions abound: Should you release an indie CD? Does A&R still exist? What kinds of deals are available these days? How do you get noticed and get signed? Find out the answers as record company A&R Representatives field your questions on these topics and more.

Both events are held in MI’s Concert Hall:

Hollywood, CA 90028
