MI Offers New Program in Film-TV Post-Production Audio
| Jul 02, 2008
Beginning with the fall 2008 quarter, MI’s Audio Engineering program will offer a new emphasis in Post-Production Audio. The new concentration provides intensive training in the art of recording, editing and mixing dialogue, sound effects and music for film and television. The program, which adds fifteen credit units (one quarter) of coursework to the existing thirty credit-unit/two-quarter Certificate in Audio Engineering, is designed to prepare students for the demands of the fast-growing, highly competitive film/television industry. The program is approved by MI’s accrediting agency, the National Association of Schools of Music, and financial aid is available to qualified applicants. Post-production students will work in Studio E (pictured), MI’s industry-standard THX Certified dubbing stage equipped with a 48-channel Digidesign ICON D-Control console and Pro Tools HD 3 recording system.
