Beginning this past spring, MI embarked on an ambitious, year-long plan to upgrade facilities throughout the complex.

In the first phase, seven third-floor classrooms received extensive makeovers that included new carpeting on floors and walls plus new stages, ceilings and lighting. The second phase included new cosmetics for the main KIT classroom as well as a major makeover for the Electronic Media Center (EMC). In addition to 22 new flat-panel monitors, headphone amps and study lights, each cubicle was equipped with a TASCAM guitar or bass CD trainer. For PIT, a new recording studio and practice labs were added on the third floor.

Upcoming plans include major equipment upgrades for the Multi-Media Lab, a new GIT-specific studio, cosmetics for the remaining class and performance rooms and new hallway treatments. It's a brand-new day for MI!
