Roland Corp Provides Practice, Keyboard, Performance Gear for MI Students

Roland Corp has recently made generous donations of Roland and Boss practice, recording, and performance gear for the use of MI students. Equipment scheduled for delivery includes:Roland/Boss JS-8 eBands: 24 cool desktop-mounted guitar/bass preamps with complete modeling effects, tuners, flash drive inputs, drum loops, metronomes, mp3 “slower downer” study software and more. These one-stop study/practice stations for guitar scholars will be installed in MI’s library practice modules.Roland Keyboard gear: new knob-based Gaia synths (MI is currently the only institution in the world with a Gaia lab), Lucina Shoulder Synths (“Keytars”), and Brass Section and Electric Piano upgrades for Fantom G6 workstations.Boss RC-20xl Loop Stations for checkout from the MI libraryRoland JC-120 guitar amplifier for MI’s Concert HallComing on Saturday, October 23, MI will also host Roland/Boss’s international Loop Station Championship, where some of the best loopers in the world will compete in our Concert Hall for prizes before a panel of celebrity judges.
