GIT student Kenny Echizen is now the proud owner of a brand new Ernie Ball 2005 Axis Supersport guitar (see photo) donated by Ernie Ball/Musicman. To win the right to take home the guitar, Echizen hit the stage with chops blazing, tasty and creative phrasing and a killer groove, besting the field in the first-ever GIT Guitar Contest.

Echizen beat out 23 other hopefuls, each of whom displayed tremendous originality, technical skill and plain old nerve as they performed on the P-100 stage before a large, excited crowd of MI students and a judging panel of five GIT instructors. Second prize (a gift certificate for Player's Supply) was awarded to Michael Weeks. Plans are already underway for a repeat performance next year...
