MI Hosts Songcrafting Seminar
May 05, 2007

On May 5-6, MI will be the location of the Steve Seskin/Pat Pattison Songcrafting Seminar. Over the course of the weekend, participants will experience interactive lectures on melody writing and many facets of lyric writing such as imagery/emotion, point of view, rewriting, rhyming and metaphor, inspiration and dealing with "writer's block." There will also be writing exercises and a question and answer period each day.

Steve Seskin (pictured) is one of the most successful writers in Nashville, with a boatload of songs recorded by Tim McGraw, Neal McCoy, John Michael Montgomery, Kenny Chesney, and more. Pat Pattison is a Professor at Berklee College of Music, where he teaches Lyric Writing and Poetry. Several of his students have won Grammys, including John Mayer and Gillian Welch.

The event will be held from 9:30am until 5:00pm on Saturday, May 5th and 10:00am until 5:00pm on Sunday, May 6th. The cost is $250 for both days. To register or find more information, email Christiann Adams (christiannadams@yahoo.com) or call (310) 994 2399.
