On Friday, April 17 at 1:00PM, MI presents a clinic on “Setting Up and Working in a Home Studio Environment” with Grammy Award-winning engineer/producer Francis Buckley. Buckley’s professional studio experience ranges from Damaged, the first album by groundbreaking punk act Black Flag, to winning the Engineering Grammy Award in 1996 for Q’s Jook Joint with Quincy Jones. He has contributed as an engineer and mixer to such multi-platinum recordings as The Pointer Sisters’ Breakout, Paula Abdul’s Forever Your Girl, Wilson Phillips’ Wilson Phillips, Alanis Morisette’s Jagged Little Pill, and many others with combined sales of over 100 million records worldwide.The clinic will take place in Studio E, MI’s THX-Certified Dub Stage, and is open to MI students only on a first-come, first-served basis (Audio Engineering students will receive priority).
