MI/ASCAP Open Mic Night Debuts

|    Apr 12, 2004

Monday, April 12 marks the debut of the MI/ASCAP weekly Open Mic night. The open mic night is part of the recently-inaugurated alliance between Musicians Institute and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) to help educate and develop new talent (see "News" for details).

The open mic events will run from 7-10PM in MI's Hollywood Passage performance center (6750 Hollywood Boulevard). The series is designed to give talented artists a chance to try out new material or polish their stage performance before an appreciative audience. Both MI students and non-students are welcome, and backline and PA are provided. Signups begin at 6:30 each Monday (maximum of 3 songs/15 minutes per set); for further information, contact Mike Hill (323-860-1123; michaelh@mi.edu.
