MI Supports New Grammy Museum
| Feb 04, 2009
MI is proud to announce that it has lent its support to Los Angeles’s newest, most exciting cultural destination, the GRAMMY Museum. Located in LA LIVE, the sprawling new downtown entertainment complex that includes STAPLES Center, NOKIA Theater, Club NOKIA, and the Conga Room, the museum houses state-of-the-art interactive exhibits and artifacts celebrating all genres of music, the creative process, the art and technology of recording, and the history of the GRAMMYs.
As part of its Corporate Sponsorship, MI is working with the museum to develop and present a variety of contemporary music education-oriented events and programs. “The mission of the GRAMMY Museum is a perfect fit for MI,” said MI’s Vice President of Education Beth Marlis. “We’re both dedicated to increasing awareness about the importance of music education, particularly in an era where it has greatly diminished in public schools. The museum has also done a superb job of creating a real hands-on experience for visitors where you can actually participate in the music-making process, an approach that also dovetails with MI’s philosophy of practical hands-on education.”
