MI and Korean music production company Soundsketch, Inc. have announced MI Competition Korea 2009. Aimed at up-and-coming, unsigned Korean musicians, the competition has begun with recordings submitted by vocalists, instrumentalists, or bands in any style. Finalists will appear at a special concert scheduled for December 27 at Seongnam Arts Center Ensemble Theater in Seoul. The final competition event will also include performances and clinics by MI Hollywood instructors, including keyboard instructor and Sony recording artist Soonyeung Cho.

The first-prize winner will receive an album contract with Sony Music, second and third prizes include a Korg keyboard and Gibson guitar, respectively, provided by Samick Music, and the competition’s MVP will receive a full scholarship to MI’s Encore Program.
