Page Hamilton of Helmet in Q&A Session

|    Dec 02, 2008

On Tuesday, December 2 MI welcomes Page Hamilton, singer/guitarist/producer of the legendary post-punk/hardcore band Helmet, for a Q&A session with students sponsored by the Recording Artist Program. Helmet enjoyed great success in the early 90’s, selling over a million records before disbanding in 1998 and reforming in 2004. Page is uniquely positioned to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to being in a band and earning income in the current musical environment as compared to the previous record industry model. In addition to his work with Helmet, he has collaborated with Nine Inch Nails, played guitar with David Bowie, written music for films, produced other artists including Gavin Rossdale, and even performed around the world as a jazz guitarist.
