MI, Guitar Center Host AIDS Benefit: "I Cry Mercury" Dec 12, 2008
Musicians Institute, FRI December 12th Vine Bar, SAT, December 27 Venue TBA, SAT January 10th Guitar Center and Musicians Institute are teaming up to bring you three nights of music, prizes, and awareness. When avid bicyclists and band-mates Charly Gienau and Jared Swaney from "Many of Odd Nature" first heard about the AIDS/Life Cycle charity ride, they were instantly on board. They will join the two-wheeled, leg-powered, 545 mile ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles taking place May 31st to raise awareness. In the meantime, they're raising money. Pooling GC and MI resources, they've put together an impressive line-up of local talent for three nights of music and fund raising. The roster includes DJ Gran Prize, Tormenter, Snatch Magnet, Many of Odd Nature, Project Steiger, Red Again, The GGB Band, The Mob, Elegantly Wasted, Ken Rosser, and Damn Hippie Freaks. Also Dizzy Reed (Guns N' Roses) will be hosting two of the evenings. Entry is free and a $25 or kinder donation gets you a raffle ticket for cool prizes including an Ipod, Fast Track USB Interface, Oxygen8 USB Keyboard, Coffin Case, Omen 6 Schecter Guitar and more!
