Holdsworth, widely considered to be one of the finest instrumentalists in the jazz fusion realm, long ago achieved legendary status as a "guitarist's guitarist". He has released 17 albums during his solo career, was awarded Best Guitar Synthesist from 1989 through 1994 in the Guitar Player Magazine Readers' Poll, and endorses a Carvin signature guitar model.
