On Monday, October 27, MI’s Vocal Institute presents Brazilian music icon Toninho Horta and East Coast jazz artist Tom Lellis in concert. Horta is an internationally-reknowned guitarist, composer, producer, and singer who has performed with a broad range of artists from Milton Nascimento, Elis Regina, Gal Costa and Nana Caymmi to Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarrett, Pat Metheny and Wayne Shorter. New York-based singer, pianist, guitarist, and songwriter Lellis has been performing professionally since age 15 alongside the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Bill Evans, Jimmy Smith and others. Together, the two recently released Tonight (Adventure Music), a CD featuring jazz and Brazilian standards as well as original compositions.
