Eric Martin in Solo Acoustic Concert/Clinic Oct 16, 2008
On Thursday, October 16 the Vocal Institute of Technology welcomes Eric Martin in a special acoustic performance/Q&A session for voice students.
Martin began his recording career with the Eric Martin Band (EMB), releasing his debut album Sucker for a Pretty Face on the Elektra/Asylum label. After the band’s breakup in 1985, Martin maintained his solo career with the albums Eric Martin and I’m Only Fooling Myself before teaming up with bassist Billy Sheehan, guitarist Paul Gilbert, and drummer Pat Torpey in 1989 to form Mr. Big. The group went on to release six studio albums, numerous hit singles, and six top-selling live albums during a career that lasted until 2000. Today, Eric continues to tour and record as a solo artist as well as working with such artists as Jack Blades, Chris Frasier, Tak Matsumoto, Ronnie Montrose, Sammy Hagar, and Edgar Winter.
