Blind Boys of Alabama In Concert At MI
Jan 20, 2004

On January 20, 2004, MI is proud to present the legendary Blind Boys of Alabama in concert at MI’s main concert hall, P-100.
The Blind Boys have a lineage that extends back decades to their inception at the Alabama Institute for the Negro Blind in 1939. Today, founding members Clarence Fountain, Jimmy Carter and George Scott are joined by more recent arrivals Joey Williams, Ricky McKinnie, Bobby Butler, and Tracy Pierce on a mission to expand the audience for traditional soul-gospel singing while incorporating contemporary songs and innovative arrangements into their style. With a string of successful recordings, Grammy awards, TV soundtrack and stage appearances, the Blind Boys are going stronger than ever.
