On Tuesday, January 19 at 4:00pm in the Concert Hall, the Guitar Program at MI and Suhr guitars present British prog/fusion ace Guthrie Govan. Winner of Guitarist magazine's "Guitarist of the Year" award and a perennial student favorite, Govan will be joined on stage by three other fine musicians: Andy Wood (guitar) and MI's own Ernest Tibbs (bass) and Joel Taylor (Drums).

As part of the event, Suhr Guitars will provide a variety of Suhr guitars and amplifiers for students to try out, with members of the Suhr team available to explain the equipment’s functions and design principles. Suhr’s growing line of guitars and amps is being embraced by many top guitarists around the world.

As an industry partner of Musicians Institute, Suhr has provided instruments and amps from for students to use while attending MI. The Southern California guitar company has also set up a generous factory-direct discount program exclusively for GIT students and staff.
