Musicians Institute College of Contemporary Music (MI) will be featured on the long-running California-based documentary series Visiting with Huell Howser, on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. The half-hour episode featuring MI will air in Southern California on PBS station KCET.
The segment is based on a recent visit Howser made to the MI campus where he interviewed students and teachers.
“Huell first approached us about doing a show on MI several years ago and we’re very excited that it finally happened,” said Keith Wyatt, MI’s Vice President of Programs. “It was remarkable to see how many students of all backgrounds recognized Huell and to see him walk up to just about anyone and start a conversation – he has genuine enthusiasm for people that cuts right across language and culture. He is the real deal and being featured on his show really feels like we’ve made it!”
Tennessee native Howser joined KCET as producer of Videolog in 1987 and has since become a Southern California Public TV institution through his various series highlighting aspects of California culture. These include California’s Golden Parks, California’s Water, Our Neighborhoods, The Bench, Road Trip and California’s Gold.
