Music Business
 

The Music Business Program provides hands-on training for a business career in the music industry. Learn career skills including Marketing and Promotion, Music Publishing, Music Contracts, A&R, and Personal Management from an insider’s perspective. Gain practical experience through your guaranteed internship, bring a real, live independent artist to market, and learn how to run your own record label. Whether your goal is to land a job in the industry or to manage your own creative career, MBP prepares you to handle the challenges of a highly competitive business with confidence.

Music Business program options include:

Music Business Certificate (two quarters, 30 credit units)
Intensive training  preparing you to enter the business side of the contemporary recording industry..

Associate of Arts – Combined Emphasis (six quarters, 90 credit units)
Combines the 30-unit Music Business curriculum with 60 units of performance-based instrument training on bass, guitar, keyboards, percussion, or voice (see Programs>By Degree>Associate of Arts for more information).

Bachelor of Music in Performance, Minor in Music Industry Studies (13 quarters, 192 credit units)
A comprehensive performance degree in bass, guitar, keyboard, percussion or voice plus 30 units of intensive studies in the contemporary music industry (see Programs>By Degree>Bachelor of Music for more information)

Record Companies: Learn How They Work, Start Your Own
Learn the complete record company business cycle from A&R and duplication to promotion and distribution as you bring an actual independent artist to market.
