Musicians Institute, [mi.edu] is a contemporary school of music located in Hollywood, California. Students are prepared for careers in the music industry as recording artists, performers, sound engineers, promoters and managers. Our students arrive with a passion for music and leave with the practical knowledge, technical skills and hands-on experience that it takes to transform their aspirations into careers. We are a BA/AA degree granting private post secondary music performance, recording and business school with a diverse, international student body. MI is presently searching for a talented and enthusiastic Art Manager to create conceptually designed solutions for our internal clients (departments), and following each project through flawless execution, delivering on time and on budget consistently. The successful Art Manager will thrive on quick turnaround projects, be ultra flexible and possess a true committed passion for Musicians Institute. They will also have a can-do attitude that is infectious to their work, the departments they interact with and their teammates. Qualified candidates will possess: · Excellent communication skills · Ability to maintain high expectations of self & coworkers · Experience managing simultaneous projects, workflows, and working with different creative teams Position involves daily interaction with Marketing Manager, graphic designers, and department heads. Other duties include but might not be limited to: · Working collaboratively with all members of the team on each assignment · Taking complete ownership in developing and producing innovative concepts that solve client's problems · Maintaining an awareness of contemporary visual practices throughout the country (and internationally) in order to recognize opportunities for innovation · Ensure all elements for each assignment are properly prepared when job moves to production · Supervising the production of printed materials; including final layout, ordering type, specifying and ordering photography or artwork, supervising the preparation of mechanicals, checking mechanicals and proofs · Demonstrating a keen interest in MI business to develop a "hands on" knowledge · Inspiring and motivating peers with attitude, dedication, talent and unique solutions to creative problems · Embody the values of MI · Promoting team working environment · Be a presence in the industry, and be able to actively recruit new talent · Offering great creative solutions that work within client's established budget · Taking financial responsibility of projects from conception to production · Project research · Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS · BA in art, design or graduate from art school · Minimum 2-3 years experience in the graphic design field · Innovative thinker with insight into design process · Ability to develop & promote efficiency in procedures · Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and juggle multiple priorities · Experienced in establishing and maintaining highly accurate, error-proof file management procedures · Mac-savvy/creative suite experience required · A proactive mindset · Detailed-oriented and highly organized · Very strong time management · Skilled at internal and external team and vendor management · Diplomacy in communications and interpersonal communications skills very necessary · Flexible attitude with experience in a fast-paced team environment This is a full-time position that requires you to work 40 or more hours per week.
