Nicole, Charissa Voice
By the age of 15, Charissa Nicole was already belting out the National Anthem at large events like the Bonneville National Speed Week and Championship Boxing. Since moving from Oregon to Los Angeles and graduating from MI with the Outstanding Student Award in 2003, Charissa has built a successful career as a songwriter and vocalist. In 2004, she was chosen as a cast member for the MTV pilot, Girl Makes Band, and a year later released her debut album, This Road. Along the way she performed numerous gigs with R&B and Top 40 bands while doing session work and backing vocals for producers and artists including Reba McEntire, Jesse McCartney, Raven Simone, Sophie B. Hawkins, Tre Hardson, and more. In 2007, Charissa collaborated with an LA producer to form Perpetuate Music and Perpetuate Records, and her first single release, “Long Days,” went to #1 in several US markets. She is currently performing with the all-female a cappella group Five Carat and her original blues/rock band Sun City Revival. At MI, Charissa teaches Private Lessons and in the Reggae Live Performance Workshop.
