Born in Iran, Barmak Behdandnia pursued a degree in English Literature and a Masters in Media Studies from the New School in New York City. He began his professional career with Paul Heller, producer of Withnail and I and My Left Foot. He later worked as an Art Department Coordinator on several television shows, including the “Supernatural” pilot and “In Justice,” as well as the Emmy Award-nominated television movie Desperation. For nearly three years, he read and gave feedback on hundreds of commercials and features for the award-winning powerhouse directors Traktor and has subsequently conducted research for scripts going into production. He has had several feature scripts optioned and rewritten multiple screenplays for directors. Barmak teaches a course in Writing Narrative for Commercials, Music Videos and Short Films.
