Kether Gallu-Badat has worked in the music and new media industries for over 15 years and is currently co-owner and co-president of Latchkey Recordings, an indie label with North American distribution via Koch Entertainment. The Latchkey artist roster includes an eclectic handful of artists, including Rev. Run’s teenage son JoJo and his group Team Blackout (from MTV’s “Run’s House”), Kool G Rap and Luscious Jackson Co-Founder Gabby Glaser. Through the years, Kether has worn many hats, including A&R Director for SouthBeat Records/ADA and music producer for companies such as MTV, Eidos Games, Ichiban Records, Damon Dash Films, Diplomat Records and more. He has worked as a music journalist for publications and websites, including Scratch Magazine, WaxPoetics, URB and MTV.com, and he’s also an Internet designer/developer for companies such as Hermes, Shop NBC, Barclays Bank and many more. At MI, Kether is a Project Advisor and teaches Visual Media for the Independent Artist Program.
