Drum instructor Ed Roscetti will hold a special master class on Friday, May 24th from 12 – 2 pm in MI-370.

Roscetti is a highly accomplished composer, author and clinician who has taught at Musicians Institute for 33 years. He has also been a guest instructor all around the country at NYU, The Grammy Museum, Pasic, NAMM, Berklee College of Music and many other universities and venues.

He has performed and composed music for numerous records, TV shows and films, including Disney’s Mostly Ghostly, Saturday Night Live, The 60's, Biography, The History Channel, WWE & General Hospital to name a few. He has worked with Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock and Joe Sample among others and endorses DW, PDP, Remo, Paiste, Shure, Innovative Percussion & Puresound.

The Seasons Guitar Quartet features Anthony Wilson‘s original four-movement “Seasons” suite and new arrangements by Anthony of songs by Thelonious Monk, plus collaborative arrangements of new original compositions by Julian, Chico and Larry.

The new repertoire picks up where the music from the acclaimed recording “Seasons: Live at the Metropolitan Museum of Art” leaves off— establishing the Seasons Guitar Quartet as a modern jazz/chamber ensemble whose sound and identity are driven not only by the interpretive and compositional abilities of its members… but also by their wide collective frame of musical reference and, most of all– their formidable improvisational voices!

To have the opportunity to hear these four sublime guitarists playing together is a once in a lifetime thrill.

Ticket Information

Musicians Institute students (no outside guests) should sign up (first come, first served) by Thursday, May 23rd at 5pm at the MI Student Affairs Office to receive free admission (maximum of ONE ticket per student).

After the LIMITED free ticketing allotment has been filled, MI (and all other) student tickets are $20 with valid school ID at the door.

Peter Cohen, Talent Producer from NBC’s “The Voice,” will hold a clinic featuring dos and don’ts of auditioning, mock auditions and performance critique on Thursday, May 30^th from 2-4 pm in the Concert Hall.

Those interested in participating in a mock audition and critique must include complete contact information and performance links in their RSVP.

*Students who have not yet completed the Hiring Hall Workshop will receive credit for attending this seminar. Students who participate in the mock audition portion of this seminar will also receive credit for the Hiring Hall.
