Stefan Nordin Composing, Producing for TV, Film and Records

Stefan Nordin (Bachelor Degree, Guitar) has developed a thriving career in music production and composition since graduation. A few of his studio credits include mixing sound for Madonna’s documentary I am Going to Tell You a Secret, recording TOTO's latest album (Falling in Between) and recording tracks with drummer Simon Phillips for Joe Satriani's Super Colossal album. As a writer, he scored the Sundance film Migration of Clouds (click here to see a Hollywood Reporter interview) and worked as Assistant Composer on the features Anchorman and Criminal.

Stefan’s other activities include composing commercial cues for Schtung Music, music editing for the HBO feature Towel Head, and composing for video games including Disney’s High School Musical and Mattel’s Monster Jam / Hot Wheels (hear clips on his myspace). Most recently he has been back in the studio as sound engineer on the new CD by LA studio legends David Paitch and Mike Lang, and his work will also be heard on the CBS special Movie Rocks airing this fall.

Looking back on his experience at MI, Stefan said, “The MI Bachelor program gave me the ‘tools and manual’ both for making music and for navigating the very tricky music business well enough that I could make a living at it. MI has a great faculty of working musicians , which is very inspiring, and that makes it a unique music school.”

Considered one of hottest young masters of jazz guitar on the international scene today, the Swedish native will display his exceptional bebop chops, “Hot-Club” Gypsy melodies, genre-hopping technical facility and powerful chord-melody solos. Andreas has released four solo albums and performed with artists including Les Paul, Toots Thielemans, Bireli Lagrene, Larry Coryell, Barbara Hendricks, John Pisano, Martin Taylor, Stuart Hamm, Danny Gottlieb, Jimmy Rosenberg, Frank Vignola, Bucky Pizzarelli, Howard Alden, Ulf Wakenius, Joey DeFrancesco, Mark Murphy, Stochelo Rosenberg, Angelo Debarre, Florin Nicolescu and more.
